the dominion started as a private bulletin board system [bbs] in 1992 and has since evolved into a 24-hour public access bbs with 250 telnet nodes, full-time irc access, multiple cd-rom servers, and ftp mirrors of the best archives on the internet for callers from all over the world. system changelog follows:

you can also download the latest linux, unix, os/2, mac, windows, and dos-related files at transfer speeds faster than that currently offered by dial-up internet accounts. download ftp files without connecting directly to the internet! on-demand internet relay chat (irc) and multi-node forums are also available.

the dominion bbs is the main hub of revanche net, a private, moderated, tech-biased network which has been in operation since 1997. it has successfully become a network of choice for individuals who enjoy communicating with each other on a wide variety of technical topics and issues.

revanche net is not the internet, it is not usenet, or any other unregulated, uncontrollable network where anyone with a connection can wreak havoc at his or her leisure without accountability. such networks today are frequently becoming characterized by an influx of inconsiderate individuals who, by their actions, end up chasing away the very people for whom the forum was created. not in revanche net. we provide a welcome atmosphere free from spamming, ridicule, illegal schemes, junk mail, and etc. our users do not have to sift through dozens of irrelevant, unwelcome messages to find what they came for.

revanche net is devoted to improving both the bbs and internet scenes through intelligent and quality discussions. seamlessly integrated with international feeds from different authorities on the internet and featuring seven highly specialized message echoes covering linux, java, systems integration, intranets, and mac discussions, as well as the typical general and sysop conference topics, it is fondly called the "biggest little network" in the philippine bbs community.

the dominion bbs started on a linux box in 1992 and has gone full circle by employing linux and perl today. it runs lord and other dos-based doors using dosemu. in the interim, the dominion was powered by elebbs, a remoteaccess-compatible bbs program written by programmer extraordinaire maarten bekers who is also working on a native linux version of elebbs and on eleweb, an http-based bbs that works with most webservers like apache. to this day, the dominion bbs continues to function as a beta site for both programs. for more information on elebbs and eleweb, check out the latest elebbs news and faq pages and pcmicro's elebbs faq.
